Dave Bickley
Appointing Body: Academy Transformation Trust
Chair of Governors
Community Governor
Term of Office: 1st September 2018 to 31st August 2022

I have worked in education in the West Midlands area for over thirty years, enjoying roles ranging from classroom teacher to Senior Leader. Most recently, I held the position of Regional Lead Practitioner for Science, Data and Assessment for the Academy Transformation Trust. Having been Executive Chair of the Local Academy Committee since September 2018, I am fully committed to working with each academy to ensure that the children of Caldmore and North Walsall are given the best possible foundations for a bright and prosperous future, through the provision of high-quality learning experiences in caring and richly diverse communities. Whilst taking a keen interest in all aspects of academy life, I have a link governor responsibility for safeguarding.

As an avid football fan, I enjoy attending matches with my two sons and have previously coached schoolboy district football teams. My wife and I are enthusiastic ramblers, who get great pleasure from roaming through the some of the wonderful landscapes, both across our region and further afield. I also enjoy music and have regularly played guitar in school productions, for local theatre groups and in several original bands.

I take immense pride in being associated with the tremendous work being carried out at both of our academies and will strive to lead the Local Academy Committee in its aim of providing staff, children and members of the local community with the challenge, support and recognition they deserve.

To contact Mr Bickley, please or write to him care of the academy.

I am a parent/vice-chair governor at North Walsall Primary Academy. I have been governing at this school for over seven years. Three of my children attended NWPA from nursery through to year 6 and another 3 of my children are currently attending NWPA.
I am a level 3 Early Years Educator and I have fourteen years of experience working with children. I enjoy being part of the governing body because it gives me opportunities to be updated with the education system.

My link governor responsibility is Early Years. I keep track with visits by knowing what the staff are providing for the individual needs of a child from an early age. It is very important for children to have a good and balanced start in their lives to enjoy and achieve in education.

I love spending time with my family and treating my children to movies and family outings. I also enjoy cooking a variety of cultural foods from Bangladeshi cuisine to English cuisine.
I will aim to keep NWPA at its best standards and contribute any ideas in improving NWPA. I will ensure that I will not hold back in challenging situations and bring commitments and fresh ideas to the governing body. To the best of my ability I will promote good quality education by making myself aware of what the Trust is providing for our children.

My name is Charlotte Carey and I am the teacher governor. I have been a governor for the past 6 years and have taught primarily in Early Years and KS1. I have a passion for special educational needs and have tried my very best to ensure North Walsall Primary is inclusive for all.
I have always believed schools should have high expectations of all who work and learn in them. They should strive to discover and develop their pupils’ talents, enabling them to develop into confident, resilient and successful individuals. As a governor, I provide both challenge and support to the Principal and staff as they work to achieve the best outcomes for all our pupils.
In my spare time I enjoy walking my dog Oscar and travelling.

Saima Kauser
Appointing Body: Academy Transformation Trust
Parent Governor
Term of Office: 1st September 2016 to 31st August 2020

My name is Saima Kauser and I’m currently a parent governor at NWPA. I have four children that have attended the school with two that have left for high school. I have been a parent governor for the past four years. My reasons behind becoming a parent governor were initially because I wanted to more involved within the school my children were attending, and It’s also led to me wanting to have a more active role within the community.

My past experiences have also led to the decision of become a parent governor, as I have previously voluntarily worked and helped out at my local community centre, which involved helping youngsters and supporting them.
I believe by being a governor for NWPA, my input could be valuable for the school and it can also be beneficial to me as I can learn new stuff as I go along.

I’ve recently just completed my business management degree, which has helped me with my journey to starting up my own business from home, which is working in the catering field.

I enjoy being a parent governor as it makes me feel valued and also because it makes me aware with what’s happening within the school, and I will use my knowledge and skills to help NWPA to the best of my ability.
